What you'll do 

The Electrical Infrastructure department at Volvo Cars Engineering seeks to enhance its Software, Tools & Methods team by hiring an Engineer to oversee Non-Tooled Standard components and specifications for Wire Harness systems. Responsible for the complete vehicle electrical system, including wire harnesses and related components, we are a team of 250 engineers working across various platforms and programs. The Software, Tools & Methods team, comprising 10 engineers, focuses on designing and supporting our cars' development.

In the role, you will be responsible for to maintain, update and release the current and new palette of components in internal Volvo systems. This includes the following:

• Read and write technical documentation
• Ensure definition of requirements
• Participate/Drive continuous competence development in our engineering teams
• Interact with co-workers and stakeholders to improve the quality of deliverables
• Delivering a major / complex development task in a cross-functional team environment. Balancing and integrating design aspects in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Act a as tutor / mentor in the area.

Who you are 

We are looking for someone who is an excellent communicator with good cooperation skills, high integrity, and professionalism. You are structured, meticulous, and possess a problem-solving approach. The ideal candidate can work independently and collaboratively within a team, with a curious mindset that drives quick learning and knowledge-sharing.

To be successful in this role we believe that you are...

• Experienced in processes, systems and tools used for technical documentation and project management within Volvo Cars (e.g KDP, Teamcenter, Catia V5, CAPITAL)
• Able to understand the electrical distribution system design and manufacturing flows/processes
• Highly self-motivated with an eager to learn and take initiatives
• A good communicator in English, both verbally and in writing
• Experienced in working with administrative tasks

We also see that you have an Engineering related education at university level within mechanical, mechatronics, electrical, or similar competence achieved through working experience.
