Each year, Volvo Cars welcome students as Summer Workers to our sites in Gothenburg, Olofström, Skövde och Lund. As a Summer Worker at Volvo Cars you can work in production, in one of our storages or at the office. Spending a few weeks in our team is a great way for you to get an insight to what life at Volvo Cars can be like and gives you a basic understanding of our operations. It also provides you with a strong network in our organization, which can be of value in your future career.  The number of Summer Worker positions and work areas varies from year to year.

What you’ll do?
The Inbound Logistics EMEA team at Volvo Cars are making sure our carriers deliver needed material to our plants in time to be able to build cars. We plan, optimize and execute transports both within EMEA and from overseas to all of our EMEA production sites, consolidation centre and aftermarket as well as the return flows of packaging to our suppliers. The team also are responsible to manage our carrier’s performance and future improvements.

Do you fit the profile?
The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of logistics and the European transport market, and you also might have a degree or equivalent in Logistics or related subject as basis for your career. If you have experience from a forwarder or in house logistics team this is an advantage, equally experience from supply chain, another OEM or tier 1 supplier is also of interest.

This role will absolutely suit you if you are a quick learner and have excellent interpersonal skills including fluent English both written and spoken, as that will be your daily working language.

We believe you have a strong knowledge and experience in MS Excel and understand operational planning and resource allocation. You have proven ability to be accurate and detail oriented. You have proven ability and have your strength in prioritization and have also a proven ability to work creatively and analytically with a problem-solving approach.

We also believe that you can think outside the box and are eager to see the broader picture in all you do.
