In the role as Homologation Release Engineer, we can offer you the opportunity to work on future technologies and be part of deep dive investigations together with R&D when it comes to the new areas. You will also collaborate with external parties as authorities and technical services from accredited European authorities, which give your tasks an interesting, international flavor with possibilities to travel!
Your home team consist of Certification Engineers for both Safety, Environmental, Whole Vehicle Type Approval & Conformity of Production. This position will be within the agile team with focus on Environmental regulations, Whole Vehicle Type Approval & Conformity of Production.
What you'll do
You will be responsible for leading, planning and executing certification of all EU and non-EU markets, shortly for the whole world. Your will prepare and manage the certification activities, including coordinating and leading meetings before witness certification.
You perform certification work together with technical services or authorities, including negotiate if the test content is witnessed based on rules for all markets where Volvo Cars are sold, all in order to issue certificates and other necessary documentation.
You will also be expected to achieve and maintain an in-depth competence regarding assigned certification requirements and to support R&D organization with interpretation and government support during the development process.
What you’ll bring
We see that you have a higher technical training or equivalent. If you possess knowledge in Volvo Cars development process, it's an advantage.
You will need to fully understand automotive regulations and previous experience from performing certification activities will be crucial. Understanding R&D programs including ongoing changes process and how this affects certification will also be important. Preferably you have experience from attribute work within interior, exterior, electrical or chassis.
You will need a track record of negotiations with authorities, you have developed diplomatic skills and the ability to adapt to different situations in an effective way, turning negative to positive. You are a person with high integrity and professionalism, used to work with cultural diversity. You are business driven and tolerant, with the ability to meet changes in agreed plan and still always deliver with high standards. You are comfortable to independently drive changes and overcome obstacles is something that you thrive from!
