About the programme   

Take the opportunity to join our 5-month-long career-boosting Internship Programme together with other students from around the globe. 
 
You will have a full-time paid temporary employment and all positions are located at our headquarter in Gothenburg, Sweden and you are expected to be onsite. All students start together in the beginning of February 2024 and end by the end of June.    

The Internship Programme offers common onboarding days, developed business understanding, personal-development opportunities, mentorship, and joint activities with the other students.

What you’ll do 

You will work with Software Development that includes verification, validation and software integration to mention some. The departments are part of our Research & Development organization. You will get the opportunity to try out working with state-of-the-art test setups and work both with vehicle simulators and hardware components. More details on the project which you will be working on as well as the team which you will be joining will be presented at a possible interview with the potential manager/mentor.   

What you’ll bring 

To be eligible to apply you need to be enrolled at a university and have an ongoing Bachelor (3rd and 4th year) or master's education during the Internship programme. To be a fit for the programme you have ongoing studies within the areas of Embedded Systems, Mechatronics, Software, Automotive Systems, Electrical and Electronics Engineering or similar. 

It is meritorious if you have programming skills in Matlab, Python and C++ as well as working in hardware-in-loop environments such as dSpace or Vector.  

We believe that you are a great networker and communicator. You have a positive attitude, and are interested in developing yourself, others, as well as our business. 

As we are an international workplace, you need to be fluent in English, spoken and written.  

The programme is open to applicants from all over the world and we welcome diversity in all aspects. For international applicants you must hold a passport that is valid for at least 6 months after the end of the programme – Volvo Cars will support in the visa and relocation process. The extent of the process may vary depending on nationality, current location, and other individual circumstances.
